nicey jane indeed... and a little confession

A few weeks ago, I ordered three yards of coordinating prints from Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane fabric line.  My plan was to make Sayla and Keadryn little semi-matching dresses for Keadryn's third birthday party later this month.

Three things to notice:

1- The fabric... gorgeous right?  I matched the girls' dresses to Jordi's red-and-green birthday party palette, but isn't the aqua beautiful as well?  The laminated 'pocketbook green'  (see above) is on my mother's day wish list.
2- The shirring.  I can't stop y'all.
3- I ended up making 4 dresses.  One for Keadryn, one for Sayla, a little one for teeny baby Hannah... And (here's where the confession comes in) I used the extra fabric to make a coordinating newborn dress just in case Peanut #2 is a girl.  I know it's weird to make a dress for a baby that might be a boy.  But I couldn't help myself.  There, I said it.

Tutorial to come, by the way... so y'all can join in the nicey, shirred, pocket-y, summer-y goodness.

  1. These are so cute. The shirring is fabulous and comfortable. I remember wearing "sun dresses" -- that's what we called these -- when I was little. They were favorites of mine!
