blue dress sew along- day 1

We're so excited for our first Sew Along! Let's get started!

Measure around your chest (under your arms) and the widest place on your hips (my chest measurement was the larger of the two, but I don't have any hips, so yours might be the same or your hip measurement might be bigger). Choose the larger of the two measurements- from now on that number is referred to as YOUR WIDTH.

To determine your dimension, take YOUR WIDTH and add four inches. That number = YOUR FABRIC MEASUREMENT.

From your main fabric, cut out a rectangle that is 33" tall and YOUR FABRIC MEASUREMENT wide.

From your lining fabric, cut out a rectangle that is 31" tall and YOUR FABRIC MEASUREMENT wide.

Fold your main fabric rectangle in half width wise (preserve the 33" and 31" heights, cut the YOUR FABRIC MEASUREMENT side in half). Cut.*Keep your lining fabric rectangle as one piece.

See you back here tomorrow for more Sew Along goodness!
