the hippo shower

The hippo shower was a smashing success... A lovely mama-to-be, great friends, thoughtful gifts, wonderful food, all the things that make a party terrific.

I showed y'all the new things I was going to be trying out, and then something magical happened, y'all- I actually finished all of the projects I showed you.  Yep, all present and accounted for, well, with some tweaks and modifications, of course.
The layered cupcakes (yellow cake with chocolate frosting to match our green-yellow-brown palette)

The spray painted bottles
The hippo garland  (I ended up using the paper hippos for our 'game' of giving Jenny boy advice and then hanging them in the yellow branches)
And the tree o' donut holes

I added in some felt garland, Martha's pom poms, little hippo labels, favors (peanut butter chocolate chip cookies) in little green sewn bags, and a paint chips "It's a Boy!" Banner...

Have I mentioned that I love baby showers?  Have I also mentioned that Jordi and I are combining forces to throw the most wonderful of owl themed baby showers in just a couple months for our baby sis, Kedron, who is due in October? And have I told you that there are whispers of scheming and planning underway for my baby shower in May? I'm not privy to that scheming, but I'm sure you'll be hearing more about it (and the owl shower!  I LOVE throwing showers with Jord!) in the weeks to come...
